About Word
Specifications are long, they are inherited from the last project as often as they are written fresh, and they are almost never read end to end against the drawings they accompany. That is how a set ends up specifying one thing in Section 08 and drawing another on a facade sheet.
Reading the specification as part of the set makes that comparison mechanical. The clause and the drawing get checked against each other, and where they disagree the finding names both.
